Your Safety & Security

Safety & Security

The safety and security of our guests is the primary focus of Camili Safaris to enable you to have the most exceptional experience possible. The African countries where Camili Safaris operates are very friendly and welcoming. But they are very foreign to most visitors from the U.S., and the unfamiliarity can be stressful.

Camili Safari directors and guides, who are all local to the region in which you will be traveling, will be with you every step of the way. They will help you navigate the airport, transportation, hotels, activities and excursions – everything – so all you need to think about is having an exceptional experience.

Camili Safaris will take care of all your needs from the moment you land to the moment you depart. We will track your flight and be aware of its real-time status, so we know exactly when to expect you.

Once you arrive, you will be greeted by a Camili Safaris Airport Guide who will help you with all your arrival procedures. Your Airport Guide will meet you at the airport arrival terminal entrance and help you seamlessly navigate through immigration and passport control, baggage claim, and customs clearance. Your guide will then escort you to the terminal exit where you will meet your Safari Director. Your director will take you to your hotel to check in and freshen up.

On your departure date, your Safari Director will transfer you from your hotel to the airport. We will track your flight’s status to ensure you arrive at the airport with the right amount of time before your flight for your comfort.

A Camili Safaris Airport Guide accompanied by dedicated porters will meet you at the airport drop-off point to help you seamlessly navigate the departure procedures. Your Airport Guide will escort you through the security gate, check-in counter, passport control, and security screening. If you have lounge access, your guide will escort you to your airline’s lounge. If not, your representative will take you to your departure boarding gate.

While we take all the steps we can to avoid accidents and illnesses, sometimes things happen. For your peace of mind, every Camili Safaris guide is trained in first aid. In case of a more serious condition, we make sure all our guests have air evacuation insurance for transportation to a hospital in the city if necessary.

If you are traveling in Kenya, we have arrangements with medical personnel from Nairobi who will provide healthcare visits at your lodge if necessary.

Your safari deposit will go toward reserving your transportation, lodging, and activities. The rest of your payment will be held in an escrow account and only released to us when you arrive at your destination. This is designed to protect our guests. We have heard of situations where travelers have arrived for their trip only to discover there is no trip. Your payments are safe with us.

Local Company

Camili Safaris is family owned and operated in Kenya and the U.S., and we do not work with outside travel agencies. All the money you pay for your trip goes directly to your experience and the people who will make it happen. Because most of our guests are from the U.S., to add to the efficiencies of doing business, we have incorporated in the U.S. and have office assistants who are based in the U.S. as well.

Your Camili Safari Director and guides, who are also local to Africa, are trained by U.S.-based hospitality experts to enable them to be sensitive to U.S. customs and traditions, as well as help them understand American expectations for customer service. Your guides each have a wealth of knowledge beyond the local wildlife and the nature parks. They will be happy to share with you the answers to questions you might have about life in Africa, including socio-political dynamics of the regions, conservation, African tribes, religion, and any other topic. If they don’t know an answer, they will find it.
