The safari will culminate in Zanzibar Island, idyllic for beach lovers and guests interested in history and culture. We’ll begin your safari in Arusha, then proceed to Tarangire, home to a high density of wildlife. Next, we’ll travel to Ngorongoro crater, a UNESCO world heritage site, before arriving in the Serengeti. We’ll explore the vast savannas of the Serengeti before heading to Zanzibar Island.

Day 1:

Travel Day

Catch your flight to your safari starting point in Arusha, Tanzania

Day 2:

Arrival in Arusha, Tanzania

Welcome to Tanzania, the start of your safari experience. A Camili safari guide will pick you up from the international airport and transfer you to your hotel. Your accommodation will be at either Gran Melia Arusha or Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge.

Days 3 & 4:

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, we will drive to Tarangire, arriving in time for lunch and some rest. We’ll spend the next two days searching for red elephants and the famous “upside down” baobab trees. Accommodation will be at either Sanctuary Swala Camp or Tarangire Treetops by Elewana.

Days 5 & 6:

Ngorongoro Crater

We will have an early morning game drive in Tarangire followed by breakfast. After checking out, we’ll drive onwards to the Ngorongoro Crater. Also known as the Garden of Eden, the crater is one of the largest calderas in the world, gifted with varying ecosystems and a large concentration of animals and birds. We will do a longer game drive, accompanied by a picnic lunch inside the crater. Watch out for flamingoes, black-mane lions, cheetahs and rhinos. Accommodation will be at either AndBeyond Ngorongoro or The Plantation Lodge.

Days 7, 8 & 9:

The Serengeti

We will head out after breakfast towards the Serengeti plains. We will stop at Olduvai Gorge, a rich archeological site where evidence of the first humans was discovered. The Serengeti is a sight to behold. Experience the great migration unfold as a million wildebeest, gazelle, and zebra follow the rain patterns in search of greener pastures. We will also have a balloon safari experience over the Serengeti. Accommodation will be at either Mwiba Lodge or The Four Seasons Serengeti.

Days 10-14:

Zanzibar Island

This morning we will go for our last game drive. Afterwards, we will have breakfast, check out, and catch our flight to Zanzibar Island. The island is renowned for its exquisite white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and vibrant culture. We will spend the first two days exploring Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its winding alleys, bustling markets, and diverse architectural influences that reflect centuries of Persian, Arabic, Indian, European, and African cultures. Then you will retreat to your beach resort where you will spend time resting and enjoying beach activities. Accommodation in Stone Town will be at the Park Hyatt Zanzibar. Accommodation at the beach will be at Zuri Zanzibar.

Day 15:

Departure

You will be transferred to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport where you will catch your flight back home.
