Itinerary

Day 1:

Travel Day

Catch your flight to your safari starting point in Johannesburg, South Africa

Day 2:

Taita Hills (Taita Hills Sanctuary and Lumo Conservancy)

Welcome to South Africa, the start of your safari experience. A Camili safari guide will pick you up from O.R. Tambo International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. Your accommodation will be at The Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa.

Days 3, 4 & 5:

Sabi Sand Nature Reserve

This morning we will check out of the hotel after breakfast and catch a flight to Sabi Sand. Famed for its exceptional wildlife sightings of the Big Five, this reserve offers guests intimate and immersive experiences via daily morning and evening game drives. We will spend the next three days searching for the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and Cape buffalo – along with a host of other species such as cheetah, giraffe, and wild dogs. Accommodation will be at Singita Ebony Lodge.

Days 6, 7 & 8:

Grootbos Private Nature Reserve

This morning after breakfast, we will transfer to the airport for your flight to Cape Town. We will drive from Cape Town International Airport to Grootbos Nature Reserve, arriving in time for lunch and some afternoon rest. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Grootbos is an exquisite eco-paradise that showcases the incredible flora and marine life of the southern tip of Africa. We will spend the next three days exploring the reserve. Activities include nature walks, marine safaris, horseback riding, whale watching (during the season), and exploring the diverse plant life. You will also accompany marine biologists for a seagoing safari, searching for the Marine Big Five – whale, dolphin, seal, penguin, and shark. Accommodation will be at Grootbos Forest Lodge.

Days 9 & 10:

Cape Town and Franschhoek

This morning after breakfast, we will drive back to Cape Town, arriving at your hotel in time for lunch and some rest. We will spend the afternoon exploring Cape Town’s urban city bowl. The following day we will spend a full day exploring the winelands of Franschhoek. Accommodation in Cape Town will be at Ellerman House.

Day 11:

Departure

On your last day in Cape Town, we will explore Table Mountain by return cable car before checking out of the hotel and transferring to the airport for your flight home.
